Guardian Desktop Wallpaper [~80 K] |
Several people have requested this file, so here it is. The original Guardian wallpaper image with the pentagram in the background! Some people don't mind (and would prefer to see) the pentagram in the Guardian background picture. I've provided both the JPG and another Theme file to take advantage of it. This Theme file is the same as the Ultima 3.Theme file, except it uses the new background. Be sure to read the Readme.Txt file included! If you are having any problems using JPG files for backgrounds using the Desktop Themes program, get the Theme Fix. See below, in the Patches section for more details. Micro Dragon's Ultima Runes [~41 K] |
Two new Ultima Rune True-Type fonts. Unlike that other Runes font, these two look better, they contain all runes for both upper and lower case letters, and have all symbols and numbers. One of the fonts in this archive contains small-caps for lower-case runes. The other uses all full-size runes for both lower and upper case letters. Ultima Theme users rejoice! You can now use this font as your system font! (12 point minimum, 14 point recommended. For best results, be sure you're using Font Smoothing.) For more information, check here. After downloading the font, read the document contained in the archive. |

| Desktop Theme Patch [~39 K] |
Has the Desktop Themes program started crashing on your system for no apparent reason? Download this patch file from Microsoft and it will fix that problem! If you installed FrontPage 97, or (in my case) Office 97, the JPG conversion program was updated and modified. This caused a problem with the Themes.Exe file that came with Microsoft Plus! This is a replacement Themes.Exe file and will fix the crashing problem. |
| Ultima 1 Graphics Patch [~39 K] |
Arthur DiBianca's Ultima 1 graphics patch. On some video cards, Ultima I doesn't display properly in its default EGA mode. The graphics go black-and-white and eventually get garbled. This patch fixes that problem. |
 Ultima II -- The Fixed Version by Mike Marcelais. [~17 K] |
This is a patch which fixes the maps in Ultima II. Many of the cities and worlds on the non-earth planets use the Earth maps. If you want to play Ultima II the way it was originally, apply this patch by Moonstone Dragon. |

This program and text file will remove the dreaded "Division by Zero" error of Ultima 2. This archive now has documentation to permanently fix the UltimaII.Exe file with your favorite Hex editor! No more problems! |

| Screen Thief 2.01 [~40 K] Screen Thief 1.56 [~94 K]  |
Here are two versions of the application I used to get screen shots of Ultima 8. Version 1.56 is shareware and will grab .GIF images which can then be massaged into what you want. Version 2.01 is now Freeware, though I haven't tested it with any version of Ultima. Additionally, it does not support .GIF, but does have other formats. When running this program in Ultima 8 and a disk cache program such as SmartDrv, it is imperative that you turn off disk write caching. (The easiest way to do that is type: SmartDrv /X) Failure to do so will make your machine lock up and throw lost clusters all over your hard drive. |

Cute Mouse driver v1.4 by Nagy Daniel. This is the smallest mouse driver I've ever come across. This archive contains both a serial mouse driver, a PS/2 mouse driver, and source code! Instead of using your usual mouse driver when trying to play Ultima 7 or Serpent Isle, use this one instead. It takes up a paltry 6K of memory when installed and works with serial and PS/2 mice. |

With it you can create High-Color icons, 256 color animated mouse pointers, and organize them in an Icon Library. Throw in the MicroAngelo Engineer and you can change many System Icons that you couldn't before. |
